Despite the implementation of a variety of HSE initiatives, avoidable workplace injuries still persist. Also, there is often a disconnect between the leadership of an organisation the workers on whom the responsibility of safety falls.
In this workshop, a different perspective on how to prevent work-place incidents will be introduced. Rather than focusing on the compliance or technical aspects of safety, we will examine the commitment and cultural side.
The focus will be on ways:
- For the leaders and supervisors to model safe behaviours.
- For employees/contract workers to provide feedback to each other.
- For multi-level, multi-functional teams to act and solve problems that impinge upon safety performance; and
- For everyone in the organisation to assume responsibility for their own safety.
